Research Platform
The Research Platform focuses on answering generic knowledge questions relevant to all hotspots. This research component comprises two activities:
- research (carry out and disseminate) on knowledge questions applicable to all hotspots
- research (carry out and disseminate) on the knowledge required for a national adaptation strategy
The Research Platform is used for:
- formulating 'Calls for Proposals', required to reduce generic knowledge gaps
- the creation of a Climate Atlas. This will enable the foundations to be built for the development of a national adaptation strategy in the third track of the ARK programme. Should it become apparent that specific sectoral knowledge is missing within the hotspots, then sectoral analysis can be carried out on these specific areas
The specific products of the Research Platform are:
- a procedure for research project assessment, award, management and evaluation
- scientific publications and reports
- the Climate Atlas
The Knowledge for Climate programme has been set up to create a good balance between ‘make’ and ‘buy’ in the generic area of the programme, so that Dutch institutions have direct access to the relevant models but contribute jointly to its creation.
