Model Platform
The main focus of the Model Platform is to facilitate the quantification of climate change and its impacts and risks. The platform consists of hardware (computers and data storage), software (models) and support staff.
The Model Platform is used to carry out:
- model simulations focussing on the quantification of uncertainties in projections carried out for research and developments in the climate system
- model simulations focussing on the quantification of the impact of climate change on water management, soil quality, air quality, nature conservation and ecosystems
- support, post processing of data and visualisation of the model results
The Model Platform produces statistical and numerical output of the simulations named above, focussing on:
- hotspot-specific climate scenarios, the nature of which can vary greatly
- the construction of a data archive together with model integration output
A unique archive of future climate projections and related impacts is therefore created, tailored to the Dutch situation (as a supplement to generic climate projections from IPCC integrations).
